Naomi’s dance journey began when she started dancing at the age of 3. At the age of 8, Naomi started taking dancing lessons in modern ISTD, Ballet and Street Dancing. She is now a qualified dance teacher yet continues to pursue her passion and obtaining further credentials. She also attended numerous dance workshops to hone her dance skills.
She has experience of competing in international dance competitions at a young age. She represented Malaysia in a Chinese Cultural Dance Festival at Tian Jin, China. Naomi also represented Malaysia and Kuala Lumpur in various dance competitions and has won several awards. One of her most memorable competitions was when she represented Kuala Lumpur in a national Chinese Dance Competition with her primary school’s dancing society when they were the national champions. With her own choreography at the age of 14, she obtained first place doing a Bollywood dance, and third place in Jazz at “Get The Beat Asia”. Other than that, she also danced in a trio and won first place as well. She has choreographed many dances for her school’s dancing society and church productions.
Naomi is currently studying Sports and Exercise Science in TARUC. Her purpose in choosing this course is to widen her knowledge and create programmes to train athletes including dancers with the proper and correct techniques.
